Santa Fe Opera
An opportunity given to me for the summer of 2024, I worked as their apprentice touch-up artist, meaning I was responsible for learning as much as I could about each set we painted and fixed up for the stage. They had 5 performances, each one feeling larger than the last. Of the 5, I worked on 3: "La Traviata", "Don Giovanni", and "The Righteous".
Being the touch-up artist meant being capable of fixing any spots visible from the audience or downstage area within a short time limit. Times varied from 2 to 5 hours of time available to reach the various spots requiring touch-ups on stage. I had to communicate and work with several different groups of people to understand what needed fixing and when that could happen in my daily schedule. I had to keep track of where every piece of each set was, whether being prepped for it's show that night, the various homes that each set lived in across the Opera Campus, or when things were still being worked on in a rehearsal hall. This was one of my most ambitious jobs so far, but it was fun learning how to coordinate and prioritize many moving parts.
